The buying process

Buying a home and moving to a new place is exciting, but it can also be stressful. That’s why at Curo we make this process as simple and as easy as possible. When you buy a Curo home, our dedicated in-house Sales Team will support you every step of the way and after you move in, our Customer Care Team will be on hand to help if you need us.

Get financial advice – you may have already spoken to a financial advisor at this stage, but it’s best to check your affordability against the property you wish to buy. Our Sales Team can recommend independent specialists who will help with your exact requirements.

Appoint a solicitor – once you reserve your new Curo home, you’ll need to appoint a solicitor or conveyancer to act on your behalf. We can help you find an independent local firm.

Organise your mortgage – you’ll need to contact your chosen mortgage broker, bank or building society and secure your mortgage. Selling another property? Let us have the details of your sale and we’ll monitor the process to ensure it runs as smoothly as possible.

Sign and exchange contracts – once your solicitors receive your mortgage offer, you can sign your contract. This is when you need to pay a deposit for your new home. You can move to exchanging contracts when your buyers are ready to proceed.

Personalise your new home - depending on the build stage of your new home at the time of purchase, you can choose the specification and any optional extras (such as fitted wardrobes or smart home packs). Your Sales Adviser will show you our wide range of finishes and options and help you customise your new home just the way you want it. See your new home being built – your Sales Adviser can arrange a visit with the Site Manager so you can see the progress of your new home.

Build completion – We take every care to deliver your home on time; sometimes completion can be delayed by weather conditions, connections of services or shortage of materials – we will always keep you informed about the build progress of your home and completion date.

Legal completion and handover – we’ll agree a completion date with you; this is when the balance of payment needs to be transferred to Curo and you’ll receive the keys to your new home.

Home sweet home – welcome to your new home. We’ll give you a certificate confirming that your property is in perfect order and a Handover Pack with all you need to know about your new home – from warranties to our Customer Care service and maintenance advice.
