An Update on Stamp Duty Changes

On Friday 23rd September, amid a multitude of economic changes announced in the Government’s mini-budget, it was revealed that the threshold for stamp duty has been increased.

Now, Stamp Duty is set at £250,000 rather than £125,000 with first time buyers benefiting from no Stamp Duty on purchases below £425,000. For first time buyers, Stamp Duty will then be charged as a percentage upwards of £425,000 while second-time buyers will also have the threshold lifted from £125,000 to £250,000.

This move was welcomed by many, as it presents a real opportunity for first-time buyers to get on the property ladder without any extra charges. It also makes buying and moving a little easier for existing homeowners.

All our developments offer a whole host of beautiful, high specification homes where these benefits can be felt, especially Eaton Park in Yatton and Century Park in Lawrence Weston. With a range of 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom homes starting from as low as £285,000.
