Summer starts in the garden

Summer is finally here!

With a powerful heatwave kicking off summer here in the UK, we can confidently say it’s now officially garden season. For homeowners and families across the UK, this means it’s time to pull out the BBQ, kick back in a sun lounger, and cheers to the glorious summer we’re crossing our fingers for.

All the houses we build here at Curo have a garden* as we know the value of comfortable outdoor space to share with neighbours, friends, and family over the summer months. Not only are gardens great for enjoying the sun, but they are also important green spaces for local wildlife as well as providing residents with a peaceful area for mental wellbeing.

We recently spoke to Russell Laugharne, our landscape gardener, about how to make the most out of your garden, no matter its size. But when asked for some handy tips on how to get the best out of your garden in the summer, he commented that “a little bit of planning can go a long way. For early summer colour and height, Foxgloves and Salvias are great. For later summer, Rudbeckia and Echinacea are both winners. All these options are relatively fuss free when it comes to soil conditions and will just need to be well watered in their first year and sprinkled with some decent compost/fertiliser when planting.”

Across all our homes at Eaton Park and Mulberry Park, we include garden lawns and outdoor taps as standard to help your garden thrive. Now that it’s the summer season, it’s the perfect time to give your garden the attention it deserves.

With availability on a number of our four bedroom homes at Eaton Park (each with a generous sized garden attached), now is a great time to work a little green-fingered magic in a new home and garden.
